This famous painting of the Last General Absolution of the Munsters at Rue du Bois by Fortunino Matania, shows soldiers of the Royal Munster Fusiliers regiment receiving ‘general absolution’ on the eve of battle in 1915. One day later most of these men were dead.

It is framed in a Larson Juhl moulding.
